Beryl places a strong emphasis on drawing and draughtsmanship even where she indulges in abstract and imaginative forms.

Beryl offers a wide variety of styles and media in her portrayal of people.

Working from both life models and her own photography, her work ranges from contemporary mixed media and collage through to traditional portraiture in watercolour, oil, pastel and acrylic.

Using mixed media it’s possible to incorporate several images, including photographs, relevant to the sitter as in ‘The Boy on the Bus’ and ‘Piers Ottey: The Artist’.
